Fossile
Fossile are a doom metal band from Oulu, Finland, built around a heavy and uncompromising sound that draws from stoner, sludge, and classic hard rock. Formed in the Finnish north, the band brings together guitarists Juho Kukkonen and Olli Heikkinen, bassist Eetu Heikkinen, drummer Valtteri Melamies, and New Zealand-born vocalist Lance Fono — a lineup whose diverse backgrounds feed into music that feels both distinctly Nordic and broadly charged.
Their debut album No King is out now — seven tracks that move between riff-driven momentum and slow, crushing doom, with lyrics that are socially aware and emotionally direct. It's a record with, as one early reviewer put it, "brains and brawn in equal measure."
